Addressing Domestic Violence in our Community

Here is a Cincinnati Enquirer story that inspired Greg Stallworth to pray and raise awareness for this very real cause of violence in the home.

During October of 2009, Emerald Entertainment is organizing its Purple Lights Night campaign meant to raise awareness to the critical issue of domestic violence in our communities.

During this campaign, that runs from October 1-31, 2009, we are encouraging residents in the Greater Cincinnati area to join us as we bring heightened awareness to the perils of domestic violence and prevention needed to save lives of victims. This campaign, which was started by the Domestic Violence Center in Cleveland in 2008, is designed to shine a light on a critical social problem that is often associated with silence and shame.

Three important goals of this campaign are to create dialog, to provide information about domestic violence and to use the resources available to engage Greater Cincinnati to ensure the safety of women, men, teens and children.

Emerald Entertainment is asking that those who support our campaign do one or all of the following:

  • Contact us at www.emeraldentertainment.net and sign on letting us know that you are support of this campaign.

  • Purchase a purple light bulb from a neighborhood hardware or grocery store to light up during the month of October preferably outside your home to acknowledge your support for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
  • Donate a contribution toward our campaign. We are a non-profit organization registered with the State of Ohio Secretary of State Office. However, we are NOT a 501c3 organization so any charitable contributions are not tax deductible.
  • Emerald Entertainment is hosting this campaign from the true and personal compassion of reaching out to those who are in abusive relationships and need education, resources and help as they try to transform their lives back to civility.
